Orientation week 2016

Orientation week at MDIS Tashkent has started on the 19the of September. The schedule is composed of social and academic activities designed to introduce Foundation year students to academic and social life at MDIS Tashkent. Our diligent facilitators have conducted variety of interactive and informative sessions.

Honored the memory of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov

On the 19th of September, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent the lecture in honor of the memory of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov was held. The opening speech was delivered by the Dr. Saidullo Abdullaev and Dr. Jasur Salikhov who announced a minute of silence to honor the memory of the President. Then Dr.

ORIENTATION FACILITATORS TRAINING 2016

Orientation Facilitators Training was conducted by MDIS Tashkent Administration from September 4, 2016 to September 9, 2016.Orientation Facilitators were instructed in the goal of helping new students to participate, build relationships, and generally transition smoothly into MDIS Tashkent. They received training in how to facilitate small group community building and how to run activities with clear purpose and objectives. Orientation Facilitators, who are the backbone of the Orientation Week, connect with new students and create a welcoming community during the O-Week.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Abduganievich Karimov

Islam Abduganievich Karimov was born on 30 January 1938 in Samarkand into a family of civil servants. He graduated from the Central Asian Polytechnic Institute and the Tashkent Institute of national economy, receiving degrees as an engineer-mechanic and economist.

He began work in 1960 at the “Tashselmash” (Tashkent agricultural machinery) plant. From 1961-66 he worked as an engineer, a leading engineer-constructor at the Tashkent aviation production complex.

Meeting with Laureates of the Zulfiya State Prize

On the 9th of August, 2016 in MDIS Tashkent UniCampus was held a meeting with 20 girls awarded with the Zulfiya State Prize for special achievements in the fields of education and science.  It was a long awaited event, which was attended by Elmira Basitkhanova,  Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan;  Farida Abdurakhimova Chairman of the Women's Committee of Tashkent city Khokimiyat; R.Murtazayeva, professor, the Chairman of Union “Olima” and Honoured Actress Zamira Kayumova.  Participants of event

EID MUBARAK

In Islam, Ramadan is a holy month and also the month where Muslims contribute to charity work, and donations for the less fortunate. The conclusion of Ramadan is marked with a major celebration known as Id al-Fitr (or Eid al-Fitr), and charity activities done till Eid Al-Fitr or Ramadan Hayit the more deeds the person can receive. This year, Ramadan Hayit celebrated at Uzbekistan on 6th of July.

Eco Week 2016

World Environment Day is the biggest, most globally celebrated day for positive environmental action. World Environment Day celebrated every year worldwide. On this day, communities and individuals work to increase awareness of the importance of conserving the environment, the positive global impact of environmental regulations and controls and engage in activities that serve to educate and improve their environment locally.

Open Doors 2016

Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent opened its doors on the 7th of May, 2016 to all potential students and interested parties. More than 2,500 people including students of lyceums and colleges, their teachers, and parents visited MDIS Tashkent. Guests were warmly welcomed by the MDIS Tashkent team composed of students and staff. 

One of the main objectives of the ‘Open Doors’ event is to provide detailed information about the admission, programmes offered, study opportunities and student life at MDIS Tashkent.

Navruz celebration

Spring festival of Navruz which falls on March 21, celebrated at the day when daytime and night are equal, a new solar cycle begins as well as a new astronomical year; thus, consequently the law of renewal enters its strength and traditionally foreshow the rebirth of nature and start of spring, hence the name Navruz means “New Day”. That is why Navruz for Central Asian and Iranian people is the same as the New Year for western part of the world. It is time for preparation of the main ceremonial meal from germinated wheat: sumalak.
