On 2nd of August, MDIS Tashkent student Elyorbek Jumaboev received a special recycling system equipment from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection as a gift for MDIST for his ideas on environmental protection.
Several organizations, both at a local and international level, such as the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection, British Council Uzbekistan, British Embassy in Tashkent and the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan challenged students at the university level to seek new ways to support a transition to a sustainable future.
The participants of this year’s event named "Student Sustainable Development Competition” were more than 1000 students from various universities across Uzbekistan with nearly 450 projects, who researched the topic and developed innovative technologies, designs and strategies to mobilize students’ environmental behavior.
The judges of the competition were representatives from environmental industry in both Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom. Among them were representatives of the British Council and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection.
The project proposed by the sophomore-to-be was among Top 20 "Best Projects". Elyorbek was the only one among winners to do the solo project and yet became a winner.
MDIS Tashkent is very proud for Mr. Jumaboev and congratulates him on his achievement!
