As part of Strategic Management module (Bangor University) and an attempt to incorporate innovative learning methods at MDIST, the “SM Associates” - a student led consultancy practice was launched for Industrial Management and Business and Economics programmes in the beginning of the Spring semester. The initiative was developed by the Head of Business and Management School and a lecturer of Strategic Management - Miss Suna Julia Park.
Top managers of more than nine local companies have expressed their strong interest and readiness to receive a comprehensive strategy consulting from the participating students. UzbekLeasing, UzAutoTrailer, Chaikof, Newmax Technologies (MyTaxi, Workly, Maxtrack projects), Stark Industries (Alpha Education, Kazan projects), TashtibTex, Loook and Nebesa Chimgan guest house have opened their doors to let the teams of students analyse and closely observe their businesses, as well as to apply theoretical knowledge gained during lectures - on real business cases.
Two teams are assigned for each company, where they compete for the most original recommendations and effective solutions based on their research and observations of the organisation. Final results will be presented to the top management of participating companies in the end of the current semester and the best team will receive a reward from the organisation.
In the course of the programme, official Memorandums of Cooperation were signed between MDIST and participating companies. Many organisations have already expressed their interest in offering the best performing students an employment in management capacity.
We wish our SM Associates best of luck and looking forward to seeing the results of their hard work!
