There are three stages to booking your MDIST English Test:

  1. Select and sign up for one of MDIS Tashkent Preparatory Course* (PCIE) options
  2. Check the availability and select your test date
  3. Register for the test

 

*PCIE - Professional Certificate in English – MDIS Tashkent course run under the umbrella of MDIS School of Languages (Singapore) and serves as progressive preparation course for admission into Foundation Year, Degree and Postgraduate studies***.

 

MDIS Tashkent PCIE programme provides 5 – 12 week modules that can be taken throughout the year. The Prep Courses offer 80 hours of General English and **Academic English instruction per module that makes 6 - 18 hours per week respectively. The Academic English module is followed by MDIS Tashkent English Test, which students are to pass***.

  1. MDIS Tashkent Test-Taking Strategies Course

 

This intensive 20-hour course is meant for the Language Centers graduates willing to take the free MDIS Tashkent English Test***

 

In order to enroll for the Course, the candidates must be possessing the Upper-Intermediate level of English Language proficiency and above (Certified by your Local Language Centre).

The course is also valid for the candidates holding IELTS 5.0/CEFRL B2 certificates.

 

*** MDIS Tashkent English Test

MDIS Tashkent English Test – is a comprehensive test of English Language Proficiency run by MDIS Tashkent four times a year.

 

The test is free of charge and can be taken by the graduates of MDIS Tashkent PCIE 4/5 only.

 

 

There are four components in MDIS Tashkent English Test:

Component 1 - Listening

Component 2 – Reading

Component 3 – Writing

Component 4 - Speaking

 

The assessment methods for all modules are as follow:

 

Listening, Reading and Writing Module (75% of MDIS Tashkent English Test Marks)

Paper 1 – Listening (50 Marks)

Paper 2 – Reading and Writing (100 Marks)

 

Speaking Module (25% of Total MDIS Tashkent English Test Marks)

3 Part - Interview (50 Marks)

 

Component 1 - Listening

This paper consists of 1 section.

The Listening Section carries 50 marks and is divided into 3 parts.

Number of Questions:

30 questions

Task Type:

Multiple choice, gap fill, true / false

Answering:

Candidates answer on the Answer Sheet

Timing:

1 hour

 

Component 2 – Reading

Component 3 – Writing

This paper consists of two sections, the Reading Section and the Writing Section.

The Reading Section carries 50 marks and is divided into three parts.

The Writing Section carries 50 marks and is divided into two parts.

 

Number of Questions:

Reading Section: 30 questions

Writing Section: 2 questions

Task Type:

Reading Section: matching, true / false, multiple-choice

Writing Section: information transfer, guided writing

Candidates answer on the Answer Sheet

Timing:

2 hours 40 minutes

 

 

Component 4 - Speaking

Interview

 

The speaking component is structured as follows:

 

Part 1 Yourself (1 minute)

Part 2 Your Immediate Environment/Life (1-2 minutes)

Part 3 Issue (4 minutes) (the candidate will be given 1 minute to prepare and 3 minutes to present their answer).
