MDIS Tashkent is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Carlos Martinez to the position of Honorary Consul of Spain in Uzbekistan.

Mr. Carlos Alberto Martinez Ferrero, was born on January 2, 1962 in Bembibre, located in the province of Leon and received a law degree from the University of Leon, Faculty of Law in 1993. In 1994 he moved to the UK.  In 1994-1995, Mr. Carlos Martinez worked in London in the field of taxation in the Pell-Frishman group. In 1995-2003, he served as managing director of the London bookstore chain (The Book Warehouse). 

In 2008-2009, Mr. Carlos Martinez received a Master's degree in European Union Law from LLM U.N.E.D (Faculty of Law, Madrid, Spain). In 2012-2013, he graduated from (PG) Postgraduate Certificate of Special Study in Teaching and Learning, Westminster University (UK). 
Since 2004, Mr. Carlos Martinez lives and works in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and is involved in a range of various projects, e.g. his activity in the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and at Westminster University as a teacher-volunteer – a native speaker of Spanish language.  He also taught Spanish language and literature at the Faculty of Spanish at Uzbek State University of World Languages. 

In 2006-20015, Mr. Carlos Martinez led the module on “Constitutional Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution” (ADR), the European Union and International Human Rights Law.  He also took part in the Erasmus Mundus Project “Jean Monet” as an assistant-coordinator with Dr. O. Levinsky, head of educational resources at the University of Westminster. 
From September 2015 to May 2018, Mr. Carlos Martinez held a position of a senior lecturer for the “Commercial Law” module at Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent.
Currently, the sphere of scientific interests of Mr. Martinez is aimed at continuing to study the socio-political evolution of Central Asia and protecting the international rights of minors. 
The Spanish Ambassador to Moscow, with the prior approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union and Spain’s Cooperation, appointed Mr. Carlos Alberto Martinez Ferrero as an Honorary Consul of Spain in Uzbekistan on January 9, 2020.  The designation patent was granted and initialized on February 7, 2020.
