MDIS TASHKENT HOSTED A TALK WITH BRIAN M. POLLINS, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR EMERITUS AND RETIRED RESEARCH FELLOW FROM THE MERSHON CENTER AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY.
On October 26, 2021 MDIS TASHKENT hosted a talk with Brian M. Pollins, Associate Professor Emeritus and Retired Research Fellow from the Mershon Center at the Ohio State University.
Professor Pollins dedicated his speech to the topic of “National power and international trade: Uzbekistan’s connection to global economy”.
During his presentation professor underlined, that Uzbekistan is implementing ambitious market-oriented economic reforms, particularly in textile industry. Uzbekistan has a great potential for the production and export of textiles. The export of ready textile products in this industry can bring 4-5 times more profit than the export of raw materials. Therefore, Uzbekistan can benefit more from production of finished textile products with high added value.
Then talk was held in a Q&A format where the esteemed guest responded to the questions from the audience.
